KOFAVIV is a grassroots effort to confront the crisis of Gender Based Violence in Haiti.
In collaboration with Digital Democracy,in 2013-2014, KOFAVIV built a 24/7 phone based call center which uses multiple phone systems and a web-interfaced database to collect information on violence against women in Haiti. Openflows created the database and web platform and integrated KOFAVIV’s phone platforms, so that this information is generated into reports that are sent to the UN and Haitian government and other funders. KOFAVIV’s activities have resulted in new policies, and most importantly, an improving social situation for women in Haiti.
