Industry Canada (the Canadian federal ministry of commerce) commissioned Openflows to prepare an in-depth research study on the potential of Open Source Software in the voluntary sector. The 32 page report, which included a general assessment of open source software as well as a series of case-studies on the use of OSS in NGOs across Canada and a survey of service providers focusing on OSS solutions for NGOs. The final report, Open Source Awareness Initiative for the Voluntary Sector in Canada, was published in full by Industry Canada's Voluntary Sector Iniative in English and French and is part of the government's awareness-raising and information campaign aimed at strengthening the non-profit sector.
